Family Picture Directory

This is a list from which you'll be able to click on each picture title and view that picture by itself. You can then copy the picture to a folder on your compter or to a floppy disk which can be taken to your local photo store and made into prints.
I'll be changing some of the images which take too long to load or are too difficult to read or understand. I hope this directory will help you enjoy the images to a greater extent. However, I still want to add more pictures which may contain some of the folks who are no longer with us.
Please contact me thru email at historian@lunceford.org if you need help getting your pictures to me. I have a scanner and a digital camera so you don't have to mail me the original photos. You can also take your pictures to your local photo store and they can transfer them to disk for you. After they're on a disk they can be placed on the homepage easily.
Hope to hear from you soon. Until then, Enjoy!!!

There's not much difference between JPG and GIF files. However, GIF files can open as "streaming" files. The term "streaming" means that the file is assembled into a picture as it's recieved by your computer. It will first appear a bit blurred and then become clearer as the file is completely assembled. Some of the GIF files listed above are streaming GIF files. GIF is the best format for animations and black and white images, such as copied text.
JPG files will appear only after the file is entirely recieved by your computer. JPG is probably the most common format used for image files today and are viewable on nearly every home computer. They can also be compressed which helps reduce the space needed to store the file. The JPG files listed above are not compressed.
